Paul C. Pflueger, MD - Orthopedic Surgeon - Prescott, AZ - Prescott Valley, AZ

Paul C. Pflueger, MD

Orthopedic Surgeon

“I chose orthopaedics because I prefer interacting with a wide variety of patients, from the young to the elderly, in a way that allows me to improve their quality of life. I enjoy helping patients get better, get stronger and have less pain. I enjoy the opportunity to return patients to their pre-injury level of activity, whether it’s golf, tennis, hiking or whatever their leisure or sport activity may be.

“For me, the patient always comes first. Most patients have already done extensive research into their condition prior to seeing me. I believe that an interactive approach with patients will lead us to a mutually agreed upon treatment plan. I hope to give my patients the opportunity for an improved quality of life with less pain, better function and improved outlook for their future.”

In his free time, Dr. Pflueger supports Yavapai Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Arizona, the YMCA and Yavapai Regional Medical Center. He believes in exercise and personal fitness, and his hobbies include exercise, fly-fishing, woodworking and family activities.

W. Lee Richardson, MD

Orthopedic Surgeon

“I became interested in orthopaedics after I sustained an injury as a high-school athlete. My interest in helping others combined perfectly with my fascination for how the human body functions. I enjoy helping my patients regain their independence and ability to interact with the world around them by treating their hand and upper extremity injuries and conditions.

“Every patient is different. I explain conditions and situations fully to each patient and involve them in the decision-making process. Most patients have a pretty good idea what their problem is and how it is affecting their life. My job is to guide them to the best solution for their particular situation. I help my patients understand their condition so that together, we can make it better.”

In his free time, Dr. Richardson enjoys being with his family and playing basketball. He is also involved in his children’s athletic pursuits and an active member of his church.

Evan N. Simonson, DPM - Doctor of Podiatric Medicine - Prescott, AZ - Prescott Valley, AZ

Evan N. Simonson, DPM

Doctor of Podiatric Medicine

“Early in my medical experience I saw a need for quality, evidence-based foot and ankle surgeons. Keeping patients active and on their feet is, and always has been, a rewarding aspect of my field. What I most enjoy is the patients. Period. I love the academic side of my job, but what gets me up in the morning is the satisfaction and relief I can provide for those I treat.

“I prefer giving patients options and educating them about the benefits and potential risks for each treatment. Patients have different goals, so I tailor my treatments to best fit their needs and expectations. I hope to give them peace of mind. I can very often provide relief from pain, but I also want them to know they are making the right decision for their personal health. I often have a treatment in mind that will provide excellent results, but if the patient has other priorities, there are many other options that may provide relief.”

In his free time, Dr. Simonson enjoys mountain biking, hiking, camping, cooking, woodworking, metalwork, reading and travel. He enjoys spending time with his three daughters and wife.

“I started my career as a physical therapist and enjoyed working with patients who had hip and knee replacements, so I decided to go back to school to specialize in hip and knee arthroplasty as an orthopedic surgeon. I enjoy seeing my patients improve their function and daily activities with less pain.

“I want my patients to understand their specific orthopaedic condition and provide them with all alternatives of care, including all the available conservative and surgical options. I hope to give my patients improved quality of life with less pain.”

Francisco Jaume, DO Orthopedic Surgeon

Francisco Jaume, DO

Orthopedic Surgeon

“I chose to become an orthopaedic surgeon after I sustained numerous sports injuries growing up which impacted the sports I could participate in. With the advancements in medicine, orthopaedic surgeons are now able to repair sports injuries, allowing the athlete to compete again. I always wanted to be able to help a patient regain function from an injury which was keeping them from reaching their full potential.

“My inspiration as an orthopaedic surgeon comes from my experience in the United States Marine Corps as a staff sergeant and as a major in the United States Air Force Medical Corps. I truly enjoy being able to provide the orthopaedic care our veterans need and deserve.”

In his free time, Dr. Jaume enjoys riding his motorcycle and has a love for sports cars. He enjoys spending time with his family and watching his children participate in sporting events.

Rizzolo, MD

Spine Surgeon

"I was introduced to orthopedics during the treatment I received for musculskeletal injuries that I sustained in High School and College. In my orthopedic residency, I was exposed to the management of spinal conditions and was intrigued by the wide number of operative and nonoperative treatments available as well as the differences in their utilization between providers.

My primary goal as a spine surgeon is not only to provide these treatments, but also to educate my patients so they fully understand the nature of their condition and the indications and potential outcomes of the many treatment options available. Actively involving patients int their treatment plans helps to maximize outcomes and improve patient satisfaction."

In his free time, Dr. Rizzolo enjoys biking, golfing, fishing and traveling. He enjoys and looks forward to spending time in Montana with his family and friends.
